Creative ways to prevent burnout.
It is so easy to burn oneself out ( over time), handling day-to-day activities.
Whether in your personal life (dealing with family, friends etc.).
Your small business ventures ( vendors, employees, customer service).
Life habits, if not given careful attention, can leave one in a state of sadness and possible depression.
Here are some creative ways to prevent burnout as a small business owner and in your personal life as well.
Let take that leap of understanding now!
Finish one task at a time
I know you may feel that you can get a lot done by multi tasking. There are very few situations that probably needs your attention right at this minute . Like for instance:
- short on staff
- vendor issues
- meetings & taking customer complaints
- doing payroll and renewing your marketing strategies
Ok. Understandable.
In most cases, doing one task at a time will contribute to a delightful well being. It will definitely eliminate the unnecessary stress that you don’t need as a small business owner. Learn more
Break from your work space
Working from home or from an office space, you must break away for a while. Get up and go.
Stay gone for a hour or two and enjoy the sunshine. Get some nature. Go to a different restaurant you’ve been thinking about.
This will refresh you and can increase your productivity by massive measures. This has truly helped me as a small business owner.
Go get a spa treatment
Gentlemen, this is not for ladies only. You deserve to pamper yourself too.
It’s a grand relief to put business aside for a while and turn the total focus on YOU!
Without your well being, you can’t have the success you’re aiming for. You should always find time to make sure that your mind, body and soul is in harmony to win in life and you know you need all the guts to win. Learn more
Go for it! You’ll thank me later. (smile)
Take up dancing
That’s right. I said it. Take up dancing because it a great way to let off steam and also a way to get connected with your partner.
Whether it’s salsa, modern dance, ballet, etc. The point is that dancing is not only a fun-filled way to enjoy part of your life, but it’s also a enhancer to creative activities.
It has a way to send chemicals to the brain that you can use to generate more ideas to your small business.
For example:
People who run marathons (long distance) were said to have higher learning and an awesome memory due to this type of exercise.
So dancing is a way to increase the blood flow to the brain. Stimulating it which helps charge the brain to increase your learning abilities to do wonderful things in your small business. It come from a good feeling.
One more lesson to be learned here about dancing on this blogpost, dancing never put you in a bad mood.
I never, in my glorious years on planet Earth heard that someone went out to dance and mention that it was horrific and they did not enjoy it.
So get out there and shake your groove thang!
Take a special class
This is one of the creative ways to prevent burnout as a small business owner is to take a special class in yoga mastery, tai chi, meditation of some sort
These classes can help you to focus on:
- Self control
- Breathing practices
- Relieving stress
- Anger management
If you are in business for the long haul, you will need this arsenal with at all times.
Eliminate the long hours
Working sixteen-twenty hours a day will eventually create a severe burnout.
It’s one thing to be productive. It’s another when you are actually “forcing” yourself to get the job done.
Your brain can only take so much in a day. Pushing yourself pass the limits is setting up for a disaster. Learn more
Shut everything off
When you are done with your work for the day, shut everything down. Turn off the business side of things.
Do not take your work home with you. Even if you work from home, lock up. Leave all business inside of that space.
Take a great shower. Eat a good meal. Put a smile on your face for doing your best today as a small business owner.
If you have a family, read to the children a little story before bed ( they love stories).
Kiss the wife. Let her know how lucky you are as a husband to have her by your side (or vice-a-versa).
Conclusion
If you begin today using these creative ways to prevent burnout, major changes will take place one day soon.
Practice, practice and practice some more to get better at creating peace and serenity for your health sake and people around you.
