1. Ask The Customer

Ask the customer what else interest them? What would they like to see more of? Pick their brains.

The more you can make it convenient for them, the more they will purchase.

Why do you think these corporations like: Walmart, Target, Amazon (mega stores), create the idea of massive chain stores? To win their customers. Over and over again.

They ask the right questions and customers buy more.

Ask the customer to buy more. If the customer is ready to buy some books, mention a bookcase that’s easy to assembly and it’s on sale now.

You get my meaning. Amazon does this well. When you are ready to checkout and they will flash a related product or more of someone or several customers who have purchased the same items you have.

The old saying is, “Ask and it shall be given.”

2. First Name

There is nothing like the sweet sound that you here, when someone calls your name. Why is that?

It’s personal and it brings (usually), comfort.

It’s a good chance you know the person that’s calling you. Plus, you tend to let your guards down some.

First name basis, can open the door of getting the customer to buy more because they (not only), enjoy the sound of their name being broadcast through the store or communicating using chatbot, they are relaxed knowing, they are with a professional business owner.

I went to a store I enjoy going to and it’s called, “Bath and Body.” The staff is so pleasant, that they made me feel like I was already relaxing in a spa.

They greeted me on a first name basis. They showed me around to the new products that were on discount, which, also was related to the products that I came for.

3. Show You Care

About thirty years ago, I was training for a position as a sales rep at this insurance company.

The trainer told me to just listen and if you have any questions, just jot it down. I’ll answer them later on the way back to the office.

I will obey the wish.

We arrive at the potential customers house. The meeting lasted about one hour.

The customer talked about ten-fifteen minutes. While the trainer, spoke for FORTY-FIVE MINUTES!

The potential customer barely could get a word in.

So, when the trainer went for the “call to action,” the potential client said, “we’ll call you.”

He tried his best to re-pitch them, but, they stood their grounds and said again, “we’ll call you.”

I asked the trainer, on the way to the office, why didn’t they purchase? He said, some people don’t know a good plan when they see one. One day, they will come around.

One thing I’ve learned in my course of dealing with human beings, They don’t care how much you know. They want to know, how much you care.

The trainer was going on and on about HIMSELF. I had to admit. He was boring me. They potential customer could not take no more.

There are times when we must leave ourselves out of the equation and focus on the customers’ desires.

4. Customer Appreciation

This is one of the biggest boost in sales you want to recognize.

I’ve mention early that, customers want to know how much you care is top notch.

This is part of the appreciation. Call them personally to congratulate for being a loyal customer and there’s a twenty percent discount waiting for you on your next visit.

Wish them a happy birthday and give them a free burger with a purchase of a small fry and drink.

Send them a text message, thanking them for shopping with you last week.

Have a customer appreciation day, period. Your customers will have you at the forefront in their minds. No back seat on this one.

No sir. No madam. You gained the respect and you earned it!

Last, but not least, You must always follow up with customers. Even, your new subscribers.

Let’s say you the started to promote your newsletters to keep everyone informed (which is a good idea by the way).
